MOTËR

The youngest daughter's learning difficulties pushes a migrant family to its limits.

An Albanian family struggles to make ends meet and integrate into Swiss society. The youngest family member’s learning difficulties place an additional strain on the family. The parents lack the time and money to provide the necessary educational support. To keep the delicate thread from breaking, the older sister takes on full responsibility, putting her own needs aside.

I worked as an editor on this deeply personal film by Dorentina Imeri. Drawing from her own childhood experiences, she sketches a moving family story of resilience, while also highlighting structural boundaries.
